Nothing can prepare you for ‘Africa’s Grandest Gathering’ but booking into a top Cape Town boutique hotel will go a long way towards completing the experience. We’re not talking about a dime-a-dozen music festival here – oh no, we’re talking about the jazz event – the most renowned jazz festival in the world!
South Africa has something to really be proud of here as the international community floods in every year to bear witness to some of the most moving and groovy tunes by the most esteemed artists in the industry today – all under the SA banner. Ranked as the fourth most important international musical event in the world by the ‘people in the know’ at Melodytrip, the turn out for the event has nearly tripled since its inception back in 2000.
According to the stats on the official site, this puts the anticipation for the festival above those of Switzerland’s Montreaux Festival or the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland – so basically, it’s huge! Style is a big part of the deal and atmosphere is almost as important as a sax, so expect the guys of the Cape Town Convention Centre to put in the effort of their careers as they busily prep the scene for the weekend of the 25th of this month.
